3 deaths, 325 hospitalised in Dengue

Three more people have died from dengue fever over the past 24 hours, while 325 others have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh.

The latest data puts the overall caseload this year at 23,735, while the death toll now stands at 98.

Of the dengue-related fatalities recorded in the 24 hours until Saturday morning, two were reported at hospitals in Dhaka South City Corporation, and one in the Barishal Division.
Authorities did not provide details about which age groups the latest fatalities belonged to and whether they had any comorbidities, reports bdnews24.com.

As many as 15 people have died from dengue so far in August. July saw 41 deaths, the highest monthly tally this year. The second highest was in June, with 19 deaths.

In addition, 10 people died in January, three in February, seven in April, and three in May. As many as 1,832 patients have been hospitalised with dengue this month until Wednesday.
The number of hospitalisations this year reached its peak in July, with 10,684 patients. The second-highest number was in June, with 5,951 individuals.

Moreover, 1,161 patients were admitted to the hospital in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, and 1,773 in May.
