Baliadangi thana police recovered the hanging body of a vegetable trader on Wednesday noon at Jagdal Colony village of the upazila of Thakurgaon district
The deceased was identified as Md. Bachchu Hossain, 60, alias Setu of the village. Police said, in the morning, locals saw the body hanging from a mango tree beside Pulerhat Bazar of the upazila. Local people suspected that Setu was hung from the tree after killing.
Meanwhile, a mentally challenged boy was strangled on Monday mid-night at Haripur Bazaar in Haripur upazila. The boy was identified as Shukurul Islam, 15, son of late Mozibar Rahman of Parbagar cluster village under the upazila. Officer in charge of Haripur Police Station told this correspondent over cell phone that Shukurul, an autistic boy, was working at Tea shops at Haripur Bazar.
On Monday night a hotel worker, Shamim, engaged in an altercation with Shukurul over selling a mobile phone at about 9:00pm. Following the altercation, Shamim, 19, along with another hotel worker Chhoto Shamim, 11, strangled Shukurul at mid-night while he was sleeping at one Kalu’s hotel.
In Panchagarh, Police recovered the body of a ‘missing’ man from a pond at Toreya Munshipara village under Atway upazila in Panchagarh on Wednesday noon. The deceased was identified as Soiful Islam, 50, son of late Fohim Uddin of the same village.
