Unidentified people set three buses on fire in Dhaka’s New Market, Elephant Road and Sayedabad areas on Saturday evening.
A bus from Mirpur Link Paribahan was set on fire opposite of Gausia Market gate- 4 around 7:30 pm, according to fire service headquarters’ control room.
Being informed, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame, said Duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room, Rozina Islam.
Besides, a staff bus of the Green University was torched around 7:35 pm near the Multiplan City Centre at Elephant Road. Getting information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, added Rozina.
No causalities were reported immediately following the two incidents, she said.
Another bus was set on fire under the Hanif flyover at the Janapad Road in the Sayedadab area at 7:35 pm on Saturday.
