Commerce Minister and heroic freedom fighter Tipu Munshi MP here on Sunday urged journalists to publish objective news in order to brighten the image of the country.
“Everyone should cooperate and work together sincerely so that the socioeconomic situation of the country becomes better,” he said while addressing a function held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner as the chief guest.
The district administration with assistance of Bangladesh Journalists’ Welfare Trust organised the function for distributing Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina’s special financial assistance to 29 local journalists affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tipu Munshi distributed cheques of Taka 10,000 to each of the 29 journalists of Rangpur as the PM’s special financial assistance to support them in overcoming the hardships faced by them during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tipu Munshi said, “Inflation in Bangladesh is 9 percent whereas it is 35 percent in Pakistan. Despite the suffering of the people, considering the global situation, the people of Bangladesh are doing well.”
Therefore, the BNP should criticize Bangladesh considering the global situation.
The government is selling TCB products to the poor at subsidized prices giving subsidies of Taka 700 to Taka 800 crore per month. Now there is no wailing among people during the holy month of Ramadan.
