28 Bangladeshis return home from Iran

Staff Reporter :

A total of 28 Bangladeshi nationals stranded in Iran during its conflict with Israel returned to Dhaka on Tuesday.

According to sources, the group left Tehran last Wednesday and travelled nearly 3,000 kilometres, arriving in Karachi on Sunday.

From there, they flew to Dubai on Monday night and finally arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka the next day.

A diplomatic source confirmed that all of them are in good health.
Among the returnees, three are patients who received adequate medical treatment, the source added.

Another source reported that the situation in Tehran is improving, and it is hoped that air travel will resume within this week.

This will make it possible to repatriate other Bangladeshi nationals who wish to return by air, they added.

Notably, last month, when Tehran came under attack during the Iran-Israel war, Bangladeshis had to evacuate from the city.

Those willing to return to Bangladesh were informed that arrangements would be made by the government for their repatriation.
