26 new Covid cases reported

Bangladesh recorded one death and 26 fresh Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
As per the DGHS data, with the latest update, the nationwide death toll has reached 29,503, while the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has climbed to 20,51,833.
During the reporting period (from 8 am Saturday to 8 am Sunday), 291 samples were tested, resulting in a daily positivity rate of 8.93%. The overall positivity rate now stands at 13.05%, and the case fatality rate remains at 1.44%.
To date, 20,19,410 people have recovered from the virus across the country.
Chattogram Sees Highest Daily Covid Count Amid Recent Spike: Chattogram reported nine new Covid-19 cases in a single day — the highest daily figure since the recent surge began — according to the Civil Surgeon’s Office.
Dr Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed that 150 samples were tested in four private laboratories in the city, and nine returned positive results.
Among the new cases, seven are from Chattogram city, while one patient is from Patiya upazila and another from Companiganj in Noakhali district.
With these new infections, Chattogram’s total case count has risen to 18 over the past week, with 15 of those cases reported from the city area. Six patients are currently receiving treatment in hospitals within the city.
Health authorities have called on the public to remain vigilant and adhere to health safety guidelines to prevent further transmission.
