UNB, Dhaka :Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard detained 24 people along with an engine-driven boat from the Bay of Bengal under Sadar upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Saturday night, foiling their bid to go to Malaysia through the sea illegally.Acting on a tip-off, a Coast Guard team from Cox’s Bazar station conducted a drive at ‘Nazirertek estuary’ at about 10pm and detained the 24 desperados, said sources at the Coast Guard headquarters.The detainees, hailing from different districts, gathered in Cox’s Bazar and boarded the boat en route to Malaysia through the Bay of Bengal. They were handed over to Cox’s Bazar Model Police Station.
