We must learn from history, history never forgives. Today, the Awami League has been thrown into the dustbin for its misdeeds, yet they show no remorse.
The Awami League is dreaming an impossible dream: to use foreign powers to return to power. But those fanciful dreams will never be realized, said BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan.
He said, The revolution of 2024 was not meant for looters to plunder again. As a result of that revolution, we cannot allow a new class of looters to once again seize the country and strip it bare. We must not betray the blood of the students and people who sacrificed their lives. Each of you must remain vigilant about this.
He made these remarks on Saturday (9 August) while addressing a memorial meeting as the chief guest at Murapara College Auditorium in Rupganj, marking the 13th death anniversary of former Home Minister Abdul Matin Chowdhury.
Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan further said that the Sheikh family has held the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War hostage to facilitate money laundering and plunder.
“They did not allow the true spirit of the Liberation War to be implemented. Over the years, they established a dynastic system, and through that system, they stripped the people of their democratic rights. In the upcoming elections, the BNP will form a government to restore people’s rights.”
He added that the BNP does not engage in a politics of revenge; rather, it teaches patience in politics. The BNP’s aim is to foster tolerance and fraternal unity in politics. “When BNP comes to power in the next election, it will never compromise its principles as it did in the past. It will stand against all forms of injustice and irregularities and ensure the highest punishment for offenders.”
He continued, “If we commit injustice, corruption, or extortion, then the blood of the martyrs will have been shed in vain-remember this. We must honor the expectations the people have of us.”
