At least 20 people were injured in a post-election clash between supporters of two rival candidates at Pagoler Mor in Mongla Upazila, Bagerhat district, on Monday morning (June 10).
Of the injured, eight were admitted to Mongla Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Two individuals were arrested by police for their involvement in the clash. The violence erupted between supporters of both rival candidates at Pagoler Mor, leading to a protest and human chain demonstration organized at noon by the Mongla Upazila “Puja Udjapan Committee” and the “Hindu-Baudha-Christian Oikya Parishad.”
