At least 20 people were injured in a clashes between two rival groups at Josadal Bazar in Kishoreganj Sadar on Friday night.
During the clashes, several shops and houses were vandalized and one house was set on fire. Traders have faced major losses due to the vandalization and looting of shops. And the area is in a state of chaos.
The chase, counter-chase and clash took place in Jashodal Bazar from evening to 10 pm on Friday. At that time, over hundred of traders in Josadal Bazar closed their shops in fear. Although the fire was brought under control after a long effort by the police and two units of the fire service, the situation in the area is tense.
The injured persons were admitted to Government, Private clinics for treatment.
Locals and Police sources, Sirajul Islam’s son Payel Ahmed was recently riding a motorbike recklessly in the Bhubirchar area when the local mosque’s moazzem stopped him.
At that time, Payel got agitated and raised his hand against Moazzem. Later, the locals seized his motorcycle.
Officer in Charge( OC) of Kishoreganj Model Police Station, Abdullah -al -Mamun confirmed this incident,and said , there was a chase and counter-chase between the two parties. The situation is currently under control.
