Two people, including a six-year-old child, were killed by a truck while crossing the road at Srimangal in Moulvibazar. The incident took place on the Bhunbir-Mirzapur road in Patrikul area of Bhunbir union of the upazila at around seven o’clock on Monday night.
The two deceased are Dudu Mia’s daughter Sadia (6) and her aunt Payara Begum (45) of Alisharkul village in Bhunbir Union. Payara’s house is in Patrikul village of the same union.
According to local and sources, Sadia went to visit her aunt’s house.
There he became physically ill. Aunt took him to the local pharmacy to get medicine. While crossing the road next to the aunt’s house, they were hit by an empty truck used for carrying sand.
Payara Begum died on the spot. Sadia was taken to the hospital and sent to Sylhet for better treatment. But he also died on the way.
