Police have arrested two men in connection with the hijacking of a battery-powered autorickshaw, and killing the driver in Pakundiaupazila of Kishoreganjon Saturday night.
They were arrested in a raid at Ujanbhati Residential Hotel in Kishoreganj town on Saturday midnight.
The arrested accused are Biplob Miah (45), son of the late Afaz Uddin of Amati Shibpur village in KishoreganjSadar, and Hiru Sheikh (44), son of the late Jasim Uddin of Gopinathpur area in Gopalganj.
It was learned from the police and local people that Sultan Uddin (62) of Baghpara village in Patuabhanga union of Pakundiaupazila used to earn a living by driving a battery-powered auto-rickshaw. He left his home in an auto-rickshaw on the evening of August 3. Later, some unknown people drugged him and made him unconscious, dumped him next to the PakundiaupazilaJame mosque and fled in an auto-rickshaw.
