Two children named Umar (3) and Mosa Sinha (2) died after drowning in the pond of Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh.
The accident took place in Khurshid Mahal village in Panchbhag union of the upazila on Tuesday morning. Local teacher Arfan Ali confirmed this information.
Among the two dead children, Umar is the son of Al Amin of Khurshid Mahal village in the upazila and Mosa Sinha is the daughter of Md Amirul of the same village. They are cousins-sisters. According to family sources, two children fell into the pond and drowned while playing in the absence of everyone in the house around 7:30 am on Tuesday.
Later, relatives recovered the floating body of a child from the pond. And found another child dead. In this incident, there is a shadow of mourning in the area.
