UNB, Pabna :
Two children drowned in a pond at Char Gargari village in Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Humayun, 10, son of late Hanif Sardar and Lima, 12, daughter of Sodu Malitha of the village.
Locals said Humayun slipped from the ground and fell into the pond while playing near the pond in the afternoon.
Lima also slipped and drowned in the pond when she tried to save Humayun.
After a frantic search, locals recovered the floating bodies from the pond.
A pal of gloom has descended over the people in the area following the incident.
