Police have recovered two bullet-riddled bodies in a hilly area under Eidgah Union in Cox’s Bazar.
Locals spotted the bodies of two unidentified youngmen on the Eidgah-Eidgarh road at Himchharidhala around 10am on Wednesday and informed the police, said Sub-Inspector Minhaz Mahmud of Eidgah Police Camp.
The identities of the victims, aged around 30 and 32, could not be confirmed, he said.
The area is known for frequent robberies and locals said they heard gunshots in the early morning.
“I think they were killed in a gunfight between two gangs of robbers,” Hakimuddin, member of the local union council said.
