District Relief and Rehabilitation Department under its annual development programme are being constructed 18 bridges/culvert on rural roods in the six upazila of Narsingdi district during the fiscal (2013-2014).
District Relief and Rehabilitation office soirees said the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry allocated Tk 3,45,30,713 (Three crore forty five lakh thirty thousand seven hundred thirteen) for construction the bridges/culverts But as per work order, of the 18 bridges and culverts the total cost fixed at taka are 3,28,04,175 (three crore twenty eight lakh four thousand one hundred seventy five.
Of the total 18 bridges and culverts four are being contracted at Sadar upazila at cost of Tk 83,32,029. One bridges are at Polash upazila at a cost of Taka 21,37,500, tow bridges at Shibpur upazila at a cost of Tk 42,33,159, four bridges/culverts at Monohardi upazila at a cost of Taka 61,31,493, three at Belabo upazila at a cost of Taka 40,41,154, and four 4 bridges/culverts at Raipura upazila at a cost of Taka 78,88,840.
District Relief and Rehabilitation officer Johirul Islam said The New Nation that the construction work of the bridges/culverts are going satisfactorily and it all the bridges and culverts will be completed within March.
