Some unidentified miscreants stole 16 human skeletons from Rajghat graveyard in Rajphulbaria area under Savar upazila yesterday morning. A group of farmers found several graves open and the skeletons missing while walking by the graveyard in the early hours of yesterday, locals said.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and visited the graveyard.
“I have received the information of stealing of skeletons,” said
Quamrul Ahsan, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Savar, adding that police are already investigating the matter.
Local people suspect that miscreants might have stolen these skeletons several times because the graveyard remains uncared for long.
