At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over supremacy, previous enmity at Bhairabpur in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj on Thursday night. The injured persons from both sides the chase and counter-chase and stone pelting.
Five of the injured were taken to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex. Two of them were sent to Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH) in critical condition. Five others received first aid. Besides, the remaining five took treatment at different clinics to avoid police trouble.
Locals said that there was a dispute over dominance with Masum Mia and Humayun Kabir in Bhawanipur of Bhairab upazila.
A month ago, Humayun Kabir was beaten and injured by Masum Mia’s people. Because of this, after Thursday evening, Humayun Kabir’s men attacked Masum Mia’s supporters with indigenous weapons. An hour-long clash ensued between the two sides.
