The 15-day Asia International Trade Bangladesh Fair 2025 has begun for the first time in Sylhet on Monday.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury (PPM), inaugurated the fair at Khan’s Palace Convention Hall in Subid Bazar, Sylhet city.
The event was chaired by Md. Ishaq Mia, the organizer of the trade fair and Managing Director of Mia Trade International, and conducted by Jannatul Nazneen Asha.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of SMP (DC North) and Media Officer Mohammad Saiful Islam, Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Lubana Yasmin Shampa, and Indian businessman Miraj Kashmir spoke as special guests.
The fair has more than a hundred stalls from India, Pakistan, Thailand, Nepal, Iran and other domestic and foreign countries. The fair will start from October 6 and will continue till October 20. The entry ticket for the fair is 20 taka. The fair will run from 10 am to 10 pm.
Speaking as the chief guest, Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury (PPM) said, “This is a great opportunity for our entrepreneurs and businessmen organized by Mia Trade International. Organizing this fair for the first time in Sylhet is undoubtedly a groundbreaking step for the economy, business and tourism of this region.”
He said, through the fair, domestic and foreign entrepreneurs are getting the opportunity to come to the same platform and introduce their products and services. As a result, not only business is expanding, but also mutual relations and technology are being exchanged. This arrangement will inspire our young entrepreneurs and take the country’s export trade far ahead. Many women entrepreneurs will emerge through the fair. He assured all kinds of facilities to develop Sylhet city as an industrialized city.
