A total of 144 Bangladeshi nationals have returned home from Libya, arriving in Dhaka on Thursday (March 27) aboard Burak Air flight UZ222.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, the repatriation was facilitated by the embassy in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Among the returnees, 55 individuals were previously detained at the Tajoura Detention Center in Tripoli, while the remaining 89 voluntarily returned from Misrata and Tripoli due to difficult circumstances. Six returnees were reported to be in poor health.
The flight carrying the stranded migrants landed in Dhaka at 8:00 AM on Thursday.
