Kishoreganj local administration on Wednesday imposed Section 144 for indefinite period at Karimganj upazila Headquarters and its adjacent areas after the ruling Awami League (AL) and its front organization Sramik League announced their programmes in the same area at a time.
Police and local said that Nasir Uddin Awlad, Convener of upazila AL unit, called a conference in the upazila headquarters for Wednesday morning.
On the other hand, Sirajul Islam, President of Sramik League of the
district unit, also summoned a conference in the same area.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police and other law enforcing agencies are patrolling the area maintain the law and order situation.
