13 shops gutted in Comilla

At least 13 shops were gutted by a fire that broke out in Municipality Market area of Daudkandi upazila early Tuesday.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric shot circuit at a shop in the market at about 4:00am and soon engulfed 12 other adjoining shops.
On information, one firefighting unit from the upazila headquarters rushed in and doused the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts with the help of locals.
The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of losses from the fire could go up to Tk one crore.
