Police in a series of drives detained 13 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from different upazilas of the district on Saturday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said police detained 13 activists in overnight raids at various places of, Sitakunda, and Satkhania Upazilas on Saturday night.
Among the detainees, three Jamaat activists,5 Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and 5 were BNP activists, the police officer said adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade and hartal enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
