Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 13 Bangladeshis including six women while they were attempting to illegally cross Benapole border in Jessore on Sunday, BGB and police sources said.
The arrested were identified as Swampa Biswas, 25, Rupa Adhikari, 22, Lipi Begum, 20, Maloti, 21, Sanjit, 29, Rabin, 31, Joyonti, 25, Sabita Rani, 18, Ashutosh, 32, Bulti Shikder, 25, Sujon, 29, Sifayet Mollah, 28, and Chanchal Roy, 36.
All of them hail from different parts of Jessore, Gopalganj, Madaripur and Narail districts, said Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz of Benapole Port Police Station.
On a tip-off, BGB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while they were trying to cross the international border illegally.
