The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for consumers by Tk 4 per 12kg cylinder, setting the new price at Tk 1,459.
BERC made the announcement in a notice on Tuesday with immediate effect.
The new pricing follows changes in the value-added tax (VAT) rate imposed on LPG as per the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty (Amendment) Ordinance 2025 and relevant notifications and orders.
According to the new directive, the price for a 12kg LPG cylinder for consumers has been set at Tk 1,459, up from the previous rate of Tk 1,455 at the start of January.

The price had remained unchanged throughout December.
Additionally, the price of LPG per kilogram at private retailers, including VAT, has been set at Tk 121.56, while the cost for gas supplied through a reticulated system has been set at Tk 117.81.
On Monday, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a notification exempting LPG production from the 7.5 per cent VAT to facilitate easier production and consumption of LPG.
