Staff Reporter  :

Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Tuesday said the government will appoint a total of 1,000 students on a priority basis to assist traffic control alongside the police.
He made the announcement while talking to the journalists after inspecting the head offices of Special Branch (SB).
The home adviser said, “Many people were killed and injured during the anti-discrimination student movement. We have discussed how to make a system of employment for those who were injured. We have sent a proposal in this regard. We have decided to give jobs to those who were injured in the police. Not everyone can be taken. Each person was injured in a different way. We have decided that we will take some of the injured in the police force.
We will start the process in this regard quickly. We are going to start with about 100 injured people.

Later, we will increase this number.”
“This initiative aims to help the injured regain financial stability. While we cannot offer help everywhere to all those injured, we have submitted proposals and are advising that employment can be arranged,” he said.
Meanwhile, Home Affairs Advisor has also directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police to submit a quick investigation report on the Bangladesh Bank reserve theft case.
He said this in response to questions from reporters after visiting the CID head office on Tuesday (January 7) afternoon.
At the time, Home Advisor said, “The biggest problem during the previous government’s tenure was money laundering.
I told the CID chief to submit a report on the Bangladesh Bank reserve theft case quickly. Money laundering was the most prevalent during the previous government’s tenure.
There is no point in wasting time in the name of investigation. I want a report on who is involved in money laundering. I have told the CID that. If two-three years pass in the name of investigation, then it will have no effect.”
