Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 extortionists red-handed while taking extortion illegally from various transports in a different area in the city today.
The elite force also seized extortion money from their possession.
The elite forces arrested 10 extortionists in red-handed while collecting extortion in Chandgaon bus station in the city and Fatikchari upazila of the district today, RAB-7 sources said.
During the primary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed to the elite forces and said that they had been extorting illegally for a long time by intimidating various transport drivers in Chadangaon and Fatikchari Police Station areas of the city.
The arrested persons handed over to the respective police stations for taking legal action.
