In recognition of its strategic commitment to advance the SME and Microfinance sectors in Bangladesh, City Bank has appointed two of its senior leaders, Md. Nurul Azam Mozumder and Kamrul Mehedi, as Deputy Managing Directors (DMDs) of the bank. This move reinforces the bank’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, which is aligned with the national development agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Md. Nurul Azam Mozumder, previously serving as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Medium Business, has played a pivotal role in expanding City Bank’s footprint in the medium business segment. A mathematics and business studies graduate from the University of Dhaka, Mozumder began his banking career with City Bank in 1999 as a Management Trainee.
Over the past 25 years, he has held numerous leadership roles including Business Development Manager, Cluster Head of Branches, and Head of Branch Banking. Since 2018, as Head of Medium Business, his leadership has significantly contributed to the bank’s success in this key segment, says a press release.
